Mykola Tomenko: The Parliament shall not allow the Uncontrolled Sale of Alcoholic Beverages
Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and Serhiy Teriokhin, Chairman of the Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy, addressed the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a request not to sign the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine regarding Entrepreneurship" (Reg. No.4581) adopted on 25 June 2009 at the Second Reading and in its entirety.
According to the parliament members, the amendment that envisages abolition of special requirements and restrictions concerning retail sale of table wines was endorsed. According to M.Tomenko, the said amendment was adopted without proper argumentation and contradicts the general line aimed at stricter legislative regulation of production and sale of alcoholic beverages.
According to the Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, abolition of restrictions for the sale of table wines will cause uncontrolled sale of the said alcoholic beverages to any persons in any place, and to any group of consumers, including minors.
